What I Wore Today: Sunday Best!

School. Moving. Finals. AH. I'll be back soon.

For now, here's my outfit for today, I'm gonna tell you secret, I wore the same dress last night at a jazz show in SF! I can't get out of it :)

Hat: Ross
Dress: Stylemint
Shoes: Therapy ( Seychelles - Cayenne )
Bag: TJ Maxx (London Fog)
Watch: Urban Outfitters
Bracelet: Bead for LIfe

I look at this, and see the weight I've put on since I halted from eating anything healthy at all, and just consuming whatever's convenient. That will change soon. Need to be aware of what's happening to my body.  I will lose some weight!

Bye for now,

Juicing/Smoothies ALL FRUIT!

Okay, so I am taking a little break from Finals chaos, and want to talk about by newest obsession of JUICING! (21st birthday is now over so back to reality and no more costly alcoholic drinks)

When I lived with my parents, they had this obsession with juicing, and bought the Jack LaLaine juicer, until that broke and then they got a cheaper model that did just about the same thing.  I was spoiled, and they would make me juice every morning before I would go to school.  I loved it! When I moved out, I didn't really have much opportunity to get a juicer because 1. it's loud 2. it's really big and takes a lot of space.

What I didn't realize is that because of the juicer, I would loose some essential vitamins, fibers and other benefits from the actual part of the fruit, that the juicers would just extract and we would throw away.  Talk about co$tly.

Then I got sucked into late night informercials, and was sold.. on the NutriBullet.  My parents have the Magic Bullet as well, and they love it for smoothies, and easy prep work for food.

I decided to get myself a little Christmas present for the apartment, so that I could keep my health in mind, and not constantly pig out because let's be honest.. I gained some weight once I moved out, and I'm not dissatisfied with how I look but my frame is definitely not used to the packed on pounds.  I have constant back problems, and honestly my mood has not been so great because of all the processed foods I've been eating.

But now is a time for change! So I've been juicing/smoothies all the time, everyday and I feel great! I will probably start posting my favorite concoctions here from now on for anyone who wants to try it out.  If you're in the area I would totally throw a Juice party ;)

So I get a big mug, and two small mugs.  I try to use the big mug each time so that I can get the full amount of fruits and vegetables for the day.  This drink was awesome..

-Pineapples
-Apples
-Carrots
-Tomatoes

Easy as that!

Okay now back to studying, healthy drinking!

Bye for now,

Personal Post: Mountains and Barriers.

It is almost 11 p.m. and I have an exam tomorrow, but you know what? I'm going to blog anyway.

So this week back has been a whirlwind of emotions for me.  It was really difficult to adjust back to reality, especially this new reality of knowing my aunt is no longer with me.  I have kept busy with various activities, such as a retreat for high school youth, and catching up on school work.  Now that I have down-time (when I'm supposed to be studying) I have just been in a rut of wallowing in my own emotions.  I have tried my best to be distracted, but there is no time or justification for some play time because of my studies, and work.  So, now that is is 11 p.m., I am just going to let out my emotions and frustrations here right now, because this is originally why I created a blog, to express anything and everything that is me.

First off,
SCHOOL IS HARD.  That statement is totally overused and underestimated.  After transferring to University to continue my study of Anthropology, it is much more rigorous and a lot of hard work!  I am currently behind in 3 of my 4 classes, and am about to take a make-up exam tomorrow.  I am very proud of myself for handling everything as well as I am, I don't give myself enough credit, because I am excelling beyond my community college days.  But, I always feel as if I am not doing well enough, not participating in class discussion, not taking enough time to really study.. It takes a lot to be a well rounded college student, and I feel that I am not meeting up to that expectation.

I guess that's all what's really on my mind right now.. I just feel that this is so hard to overcome, my sorrow and grieving, on top of school.. it's a lot.  Hopefully I can look back on this in a few weeks and be proud of this semester, right now.. I'm not looking to hot.

Bye for now,

A little photoshoot today.

My boyfriend and I had a little photoshoot today.  We had to take headshots for an upcoming concert we will be a part of in late november.  I just love this photo! Except for the fact that I have let myself go a little bit.. It is time to start eating healthier and being more active.

Just some random thoughts at 1:30 a.m. I'm still jet-lagged..

Bye for now!
